So, what’s new?
Mass shooting in Philadelphia last night, in the popular South Street area of the city, with 3 dead, 11 wounded. Another 3 were killed, two by gunshots and one hit by a fleeing car, and 14 injured in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Several shooters reported in both cases. No suspects apprehended yet. Again, with the mass shooting news. Yes, it’s hideous. If these shootings are all a psyop, it’s working. This type of story depresses a lot of people, which I assume would be the desired result of a psyop. If not a psyop, and people are just going crazy and blasting away for various reasons, it’s even more depressing. At least a psyop is somewhat explainable.
In other mass shooting news: Dozens may have died in Nigeria in a mass shooting at a Catholic church. An explosion reported along with multiple shooters. Apparently unconfirmed.
Depressed yet?
Putin warns West about giving long range missiles to Ukraine, saying he will hit new targets. The missiles have a range of 185 miles. I’m so troubled by this ongoing war madness that I usually let it go right through me. I go back to the 2014 U.S. backed coup orchestrated by Victoria Nuland. I’m not a fan of U.S. backed coups. Nor am I a fan of Putin invading Ukraine. Now we have billions of dollars given to Ukraine, essentially a blank check, with bipartisan backing. Madness. We need a ceasefire and peace talks. World War 3 will have no winners. Give peace a chance.
The Queen’s Jubilee in London winds up with an appearance by Herself. She looks pretty good for her age, and that green outfit is nice, but the British Empire is dead, and when she goes the monarchy should be abolished. I hope I live to see Ireland unified, and Scotland independent. Craig Murray, the brave Scotsman who among other things covered the Julian Assange hearings in the UK, calls the Jubilee “daft pomposity.” Love it.
Gas prices keep climbing in the U.S. and the trackers at CBS News say the cost of a gallon of regular “go juice” here in Los Angeles is at $6.35. CNN says this is a “big problem for Democrats.” Gee, ya think?
Covid cases are on the rise, and according to TheHill.com, 300 people a day die a day from it. The website also questions if it matters anymore.
Elon Musk wonders why the Department of Justice hasn’t leaked the Jeffrey Epstein client list yet and why the story is so underreported in the media. Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s apparent procurer, and convicted late last year for said crime, is due to be sentenced June 28, 2022.
And in the obits, Ann Turner Cook, who was the very first model for Gerber Baby Food, has died at age 95. That sweet face sold a lotta stuff. Of course, now we have a shortage of baby formula, so this seems both ironic and symbolic.
“You know the world is in an uproar, the danger zone is everywhere,” sang Ray Charles in his great tune “The Danger Zone.” He was right, of course.
But, is it any worse than it was say, 50 years or so ago?
Well, on this day in history, June 5, 1968, Bobby Kennedy was shot dead in the Ambassador Hotel. I remember it well, being 16 years old at the time. It was crushing beyond words. It was the death of hope. I think we all knew then that it was Over. Really Over.
And that realization, dear readers, was so overwhelming that I still question if I have ever recovered from that huge shock to what Hunter S. Thompson called his “innocence gland.”
So enjoy your Sunday, folks. I can assure you from personal experience, that as bad as the news is, it could be a helluva lot worse.
