Cult novelist Ryan Leone has just released his first spoken-word story, Drug Stories for Truckers Volume 1. The story which features Johnny Depp (as the ghost of Hunter S. Thompson) as well as Tommy Chong, Nick Stahl, and even drug culture legends Boston George Jung and Freeway Ricky Ross.
“I haven’t been friends with Johnny (Depp) for that long, but just the fact that he was willing to collaborate with me and do a skit on my album is just amazing. It is a testament to where my career has taken me to this point.”
The story throws us into Leone’s real life tales of heroin addiction. It also covers his multiple prison terms which includes a five year stint in federal prison for his alleged involvement with a major drug cartel.
The story covers a lot of ground according to Leone, “It is a two hour and forty minute story about how I got the film deal, how the documentary started, how I had the breakdown, and all while I was out on bail and Karina got pregnant. I had a full blown manic freak out and called the FBI thinking the Feds were trying to kill me.”
It has been a busy few years for Leone. He is the author of the 2014 best-selling novel, “Wasting Talent” and it is being turned into a major motion picture by the producers of Spun and American Psycho. He is releasing a feature-length documentary like you have never seen before about his life called, Idiot Savant: The Savage Life of Ryan Leone, due out May of 2020 and he is in the process of writing his second novel. He is also involved in a few more major projects that we can’t talk about quite yet.
Drug Stories for Truckers is a culmination of Leone’s most interesting and engaging stories with an unrestricted format that is not permitted through mainstream media. This story is not for the faint of heart.
