After dealing with some creative thoughts and doing research I realized that finish is the death of our work because it means we are painting an expectation or “to be like” and that puts the brakes on painting to see and feel more deeply.
Every beginning is a new prompt, a new point of departure. Begin everything. Finish nothing.
Many people won’t agree with me, but it’s the most important lesson I learned for myself.
Also the fact of copying other works:
There are a lot of of artist who swear by the method of copying other artist to develop your own style. For me it doesn’t work. I got artists who inspires me even a lot but every one of them is unique in their own way and I can’t be that artist even if I’m able to make an exact copy of their work. It will not reflect my own voice. Sometimes it can be very handy to do some technical research to apply in own works.
I asked myself “what is art? and am I just a painter or an artist?
The answer looked far away and very hard to find until a few seconds ago.
While I was brushing teeth I looked in the mirror and he gave me this answer.
