Mark Linnhoefer – Caitlyn – formerly Bruce – Jenner might face charges for misdemeanor manslaughter following a four-car, rear-end accident that happened on the 7th of February. An investigation was finished on Thursday and has now been passed on to the DA to see if it is worthy of a misdemeanor charge for involuntary manslaughter.
On said date, the transexual reality TV star, former olympic champion and Wheaties box model was driving a black SUV and rear-ended the Lexus of Kimberly Howe, sending it into oncoming traffic, where it was hit by another SUV. The second impact killed the women at the scene.
According to Detective Curry of the LAPD, Jenner was not driving faster than allowed by the speed limit but was “going at an unsafe speed for the prevailing conditions”. Curry however went on to say that Jenner did not commit any gross negligence. Two of Howe’s grandchildren and the driver of a Prius also involved in the accident seem to disagree and are now pressing charges.
Jenner commented on the happenings by expressing her deepest condolences to the family of the deceased and everyone else involved in the accident. She goes on to say that to call the accident a “devastating tragedy” and that she “cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time”.
In regard to the case being passed on to the DA, neither Jenner nor the Howe’s cared to comment. If Jenner is in fact charged and convicted, the TV star could face up to one year in prison.
As Jenner didn’t act with gross negligence, this reporter deems it rather unlikely that she will even have to go to court in the first place. At least one cynical bastard of an editor suspects they may be gearing up for a civil suit and cash settlement.
