Walt Disney announced Saturday it is building, not one, but two large “Star Wars” expansion theme parks for Disney World and Disneyland. The CEO of Disney, Bob Iger said that the plans would be Disney’s largest expansion to date. It will be 14 acres for each park.
The long awaited expansion will feature some pretty intense attractions. Star Wars fans will get a chance to participate in an insane battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Then you will get the chance to ride Han Solo’s one true love…NO NOT HER! You will get a chance to pilot Hollywood’s most iconic ship, the Millennium Falcon on a secret mission.
Disney did not announce when the expansions will be ready for the public.
Disney also announced on Saturday that J.J. Abrams would not be doing Episode IX in 2019. Mickey decided that Colin Trevorrow, the director of Jurassic World will be taking over the second episode in the new saga.
Trevorrow said in a statement, “We will do this by channeling something George Lucas instilled in all of us: boundless creativity, pure invention and hope.”
