Here I sit
it’s a sight to see
a man of my stature
six foot eight
in a small man’s
chair
on a tiny
covered porch
the rain howls
all around
it splashes
into my drink
and dances
around this paper
flirting with
ruining
the night’s work
but here I am
and here
I’ll stay
sitting knock-kneed
and awkward
because
a bigger chair
would be
too comfortable
and the words
wouldn’t come out
right.
