when this war comes to be
blue vs brown and sides are chosen
the armed forces vs
the united nation
flags on their coffins
freed and enslaved
everything remains
my nephew, he’s ordered
kill the man standing
next to me on this line
afraid to say no
knowing this man is my brother
how about best friends
their children are grown, they own
would they pass me by on the street
keep me safe and warm
I am warrior, wounded
wanted by blue
this money is mine, I earned it. I will not give it away for free
i’m a slave to property
this land is for the taking
when sides are chosen and they come for me,
will they shoot my dog or leave him suffer
the incredible grief he would feel
losing his people
as I do standing against blue
the united nation will come for us all
restore the order
the police have lost control
we’re at war,
peace is just
a lighter shade of blue
I am a lighter shade of brown
in negotiating, your opposite must
fear and respect you, across the table
and in your reflection,
there are consequences if you do not comply.
