The American Dream is dead!
Outlaw Kentucky Poet, Ron Whitehead and Frogg Corpse have combined fire and brimstone in a post-apocalyptic world minus zombies in their newest video, aptly titled The End of the World. It’s steampunk preaching at its finest, and the video hints to all life as we know it being a complete goddamn gamble and death is only a bullet away.
“The end of the world comes quick! When you’re not looking, you’ll catch a glimpse of it out of the corner of your eye. And, it happens so fast that before you know it, it’ll be over.”
The video itself intrigues us to pay attention with its empty bird cages and strangely decorated umbrellas. If I had a complaint, which I do, it is simply that the videographer was a little too liberal with the zoom in, zoom out buttons at times. A slow creep is always preferable over a fast stop, but art imitates life, so perhaps it was a fucking metaphor for something.
Eloquently ended, the duo paid homage to Doug Weber, a New Albany, Indiana native who was murdered in February 2016. If anything it’s proof that life is in fact fleeting and can end at any time.
See Frogg Corpse & Mr. Stranger perform live at GonzoFest on April 16th, 2016 in Louisville, KY for the ultimate celebration of Hunter S. Thompson’s life and legacy.
