Boston, Mass. – Boston man, Usaama Rahim, was shot dead at just before 7AM in a CVS parking lot. Rahim was under 24 hour surveillance by Anti-terrorism authorities and after a they noticed a change in behavior the authorities came to question Rahim.
Commissioner William Evans, Boston Police, said, “The level of alarm brought us to question him today. I don’t think anyone expected the reaction we were going to get out of him.”
They said that Rahim allegedly started waving a knife and threatened the officers who at the time did not have their weapons drawn. The officers pulled back and warned the young man to drop the weapon. When Rahim declined the request the officers fired and killed Usaama Rahim who was struck in the torso and the abdomen.
Rahim’s brother Ibrahim Rahim, an Imam at the Lighthouse Mosque in Oakland, California claims that his brother was on the phone with their Father at the time and that there was no threat, however witnesses and video show another side of the story. Ibrahim wrote on Twitter:
“Pray4 my younger brother Usaama Rahim shot 3 X in his back by Boston Police then dying His last words I can’t breathe”
The shooting is still under investigation.
