The dark is
the spice of life,
isn’t it?
Too much optimism is saccharine,
so sweet
it makes you
sick.
The
darkness balances
with
an uncanny
atmosphere that
inspires
feelings of mystery
and
mysticism.
To delve so deep
there’s nothing but
thick black
blood and roots –
that’s to get down there
so far
that some of those
muddy
roots
can be plucked up, ripped out,
and everything is altered;
the disturbing
is viewed head on,
the disquiet
is dealt with,
the hush comes:
a face to face encounter
with one’s own soul.
