so in between

i go in
pacing back & forth
indecisive
even tho i kno
what it is i want.
i wanna make
a purchase with
my brand new
Hawaiin ebt card.
so i type in
the stock pin

one woman
at the counter
says, “no funds.”
I step out of line
sluggin to the exit
not knowing im
leaving my wallet
on the counter
next to a display
of Purell and
individually wrapped
Hawaiian candies
Outside i call
the food stamp hotline
listen to Cuban rumba music
smile at my homies give them
that “1 sec” face and complete
the process by selecting my card pin
as 9333 or rather WEED
then i jump back in
and make it final
leaving the establishment
chopstix in hand smackin jaws
on some teriyaki bento
yeah that was good shit
all free except
now i have no money, wallet, or ID
