Aramie Louisville Vas – Treasure hunting is usually the stuff of fiction. Yet two men claim they have found a missing Nazi train filled with gold, and they won’t disclose its whereabouts unless guaranteed 10% of the contents’ worth.
The treasure hunters, one of whom is Polish and the other German, are being taken seriously in their claim by Polish authorities. The train is thought to be a Nazi train that went missing sometime near the end of World War II. It is known that a train left Germany for a region in Poland known as Walbrzych, but disappeared somewhere in the mountainous region, perhaps sealed off inside of a tunnel to protect a treasure of “well over one million dollars” in gold, according Marika Tokarska, an official at the Walbryzch district council.
Walbrzych authorities are exploring ways to access the reported find once the location is revealed. There are serious concerns including the possibilities of unexploded bombs and of methane gas in the tunnels which could make it difficult to get near the train, let alone remove it and examine the contents.
Walbrzych is located near the Czech border in Poland where Nazi train has, for decades, been the subject of local rumor and legend.
